Communion is offered every Sunday at both services. We are phasing out the use of communion cards, you no longer need to fill one out. The synod no longer keeps track. We are pleased to provide a fully equipped nursery for each service. Fellowship, coffee and light snacks are provided after the early service (approx. 9:30). SPYS meet after the 8:30 service, Sunday School at 9:45.

 

Reminders: Due to allergies,* please no lilies in the altar flowers.*

 

Deadlines: Wednesday morning for announcements, the 15th for the calendar. Prayer list: If you have placed a friend or relative on the prayer list and they are no longer in need of special prayer, leave a note in the secretary’s mailbox or st_pauls_sec@comporium.net

 

Suggested donations: LICS: peanut butter/jelly. Lowman Home: small snack size bags of treats.

5/29, 6/26, and 11/20 are the remaining dates open to donate flowers.

 

Michael Cockrell Scholarship applications are in the narthex. These are for 2016 high school graduates of St. Paul’s who are active participating members of St. Paul’s.

 

We would like to congratulate the following who are being confirmed today, and their parents too!: Savannah Burkett, Jonathan Eargle, Dalton Lamar Sease, and Emily Taylor Thompson.

 

We ask that worshippers refrain from eating or drinking in the sanctuary, unless absolutely necessary. To help keep our sanctuary tidy, please remember to put your hymnals back in the rack and take your trash with you (used bulletins, Kleenex, etc.).

 

If your child or grandchild is graduating in 2016, please give us their name and what is next for them-work-college, etc. Thanks.

 

It’s not too early to be thinking about representing St. Paul’s at the Synod Convention on June 9-11. The Convention will be at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center and you can be one of 3 lay voting members plus, we get an extra voting member if they are under 30 at the time of the convention.

 

SCWELCA will be collecting books for their convention project this year. In the narthex is a listing of the new books being collected for Pre-K-Grade 3 children. SCWELCA is also collecting new or slightly used books for Lutheran Services Carolina for preschool age up to teens. This group will also accept gift cards or cash.

 

The SCLMM has designated May 15 as Pee Dee Indian Project Sunday. The goal is to raise $50,000, last year $10,716 was raised towards the total. If you would like to donate individually, make your check out to SC Synod ELCA with the designation Pee Dee Indian Project and mail to ELCA SC Synod, 1003 Richland St., Columbia SC 29201. They hope to have free medical, shelter for the homeless, a place for children to be tutored and play, and have a nice space for meetings and gatherings.

 

VBS “God’s Rebels” begins June 19 and ends June 23. Volunteers are needed if you can help please contact Pastor, Laurie Coggins, or Shannon Pytel.

 

The OIAM Sewing project was wheelchair/walker bags. If you know of someone who can use one, please feel free to take one. They will be in the narthex through May.

 

The Sonshine Kids meet today from 4-5:30p.

 

Mr. Bouknight would like to offer his heartfelt thanks to everyone that made Operation Inas Much a blessing for him and others. Please see his entire thank you note on the bulletin board in the nursery hall.

 

Orin and Dale Price would like to thank the congregation for showing such care and concern for Dale during her illness. Thank you for the prayers, kindness, love, and cards also. She is home from rehab and making progress.

 

Congratulations to Todd & Jenn Sease Bell, they welcomed daughter Elinor Mae on May 3. She joins big brother James and big sister Lela. Dwight & Debbie Sease are the proud new grandparents.
